Why is guacamole not responding to Tomcat?
There are no messages from guacd in syslog after the Server Error. You should change this back to 4822 and restart Tomcat to reread guacamole.properties. The error you are seeing now is happening because Guacamole is attempting to reach guacd at port 8443, but Tomcat, not guacd, is answering.
